ACEC Minnesota Honor Award (2011) Ulteig was recognized by ACEC Minnesota for a joint project with Xcel Energy and Great River Energy located in a Minneapolis, Minnesota suburb. The project involved upgrading existing power lines and adding a second circuit for a portion of the impacted area that ran along a bike path, through a park, past a school, and across residential backyards. Ulteig was charged with completing the work while minimizing the impact to the surrounding residents of the primarily residential area by designing single pole structures to replace existing two pole structures, working with both companies to place new structures in locations that were acceptable to adjacent landowners and minimizing the damage and rerouting of an existing bike path that paralleled a portion of the transmission line.

ACPA National Excellence in Concrete Pavement Award (2011) The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) awarded Ulteig a National Excellence in Concrete Pavement award for the company's work on the Runway 15-33 Reconstruction project at the Harry Stern Field in Wahpeton, ND.   The reconstruction of Runway 15-33 consisted of 8” PCC pavement, aggregate base, aggregate subbase, new runway edge lighting, storm sewer, underdrain and PAPI’s and REIL’s. The project required Ulteig to address engineering, operational and financial challenges in providing a high quality pavement that now serves as a cornerstone of the economy for Wahpeton, North Dakota and the surrounding region.

Builder's Association of the Twin Cities Associate of the Year (2010) The Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) honored Ulteig as Associate of the Year at their membership meeting on February 4th, 2010. This honor recognizes companies that demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and is based upon evaluations of trust, communications, loyalty and ethics in business dealings among BATC member companies.

	Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption (2009) The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption recognizes Ulteig as being one of the top five Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces in the architecture, engineering and construction industry.

ESRI Sag Award (Special Achievement in GIS, 2009) ESRI applications, running on more than one million desktops and thousands of Web and enterprise servers, provide the backbone for the mapping and spatial analysis. The ESRI Special Achievement awards organizations who have embraced GIS technology and have made extraordinary contributions to global society and set new precedents throughout the GIS community.

Fargo Moorhead Chamber Large Business of the Year (2009) The Fargo Moorhead Chamber of Commerce named Ulteig the Large Business of the Year at the Chamber Choice Awards luncheon on May 21, 2009. The award considers companies with more than 250 full-time employees that show growth in sales, services and/or growth in number of individuals served and/or expanded programs and services, demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices, demonstrate a commitment to employee support and development, and demonstrate corporate citizenship and/or community leadership.

	Member of U.S. Green Building Council Ulteig is a proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and actively promotes LEED Accreditation among our engineering professionals.

	Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Top 25 Engineering Firm (2011) Ulteig is number 13 on the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s Top 25 Engineering Firms list. Firms are ranked by the number of licensed engineers and scientists who work in the Twin Cities metro area. Ulteig has been named to the Engineering Top 25 for the past six years.

	NDRMCPA Gold Star Awards (2011) The North Dakota Ready Mix and Concrete Products Association (NDRMCPA) honors projects in the state that demonstrate high levels of excellence and dedication to the industry. In 2011, Ulteig was recognized for the company’s work on Fargo’s Sanitary Pumping Station #60 and for Bismarck’s Sunrise Elementary School.

Number 207 on ENR Top 500 Design Firms Ulteig is ranked 207 on the 2011 Top 500 U.S. Design Firms list by Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine. The Top 500 Design Firms list, published annually in April by the Engineering News-Record, ranks the 500 largest U.S.-based design firms. Ulteig has been consistently included on the annual list and was ranked at 223 on the 2010 list and 291 in 2009. The entire list plus additional information is available on the ENR website.

	Twin Cities Business - Top 25 Engineering Firms (2011) Twin Cities Business magazine named Ulteig to its Top 25 Engineering Firms. Ulteig is number 10 on the 2011 list. The list is established using engineering billings from Minnesota offices.
