Ulteig Engineer Marie Baker Receives Recognition

Marie Baker, PE was named the 2008 Young Engineer of the Year by Chapter 4 of the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers and the Fargo-Moorhead Engineers Club at their banquet on Friday, February 20.
Marie works in the Civil sector in the company's Fargo office. She started with Ulteig in 2000 as an intern providing construction observation and surveying services and quickly gained the expertise to become a design engineer and project manager. Her professional engineering experience includes traffic signal design, traffic modeling, design of multi-use trails and urban roadways, and construction observation on a variety of NDDOT projects.
According to Marie's supervisor Ulteig Vice President Dain Miller, "Marie has exemplified leadership skills by being active in professional societies and giving back to her profession. She is currently the President of NDSPE Chapter 4 - FM Engineers Club and has held all of the chair positions within Chapter 4. She is also active in promoting the engineering profession by volunteering her time as a workshop leader for Expanding Your Horizons (EYH), a one-day conference for young women interested in mathmatics and science. I have witnessed firsthand her accomplishments and commitment to the industry."
