Electrical design included lighting, voice and data service, and power distribution for normal and emergency power. Lighting included minimum, medium, and maximum security light fixtures with remote computerized controls. An emergency generator was provided for required emergency loads as well as complete building power to take advantage of the local utility load shedding program. The initial project is 250 beds with expansion capabilities to 550 beds at approximately 140,000 sq. ft. All controls for lighting, power, and communications within the secure area are provided through a computerized electronic system which allows control from a single desk top computer station.

All areas of the facility are monitored by the master control station via 198 cameras located throughout the interior and exterior of the facility. Civil engineering included site grading, paving, and utility system design. Foss Architects and Interiors provided the architectural work for this project.
