Ulteig Engineers designed the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems for the new BankFirst facility at Heather Ridge in Sioux Falls, S.D. The building encompasses two levels and a basement totaling 38,000 sq. ft. Surrounding the basement is an underground parking garage of 42,500 sq. ft. accessed by a ramp.
The interior consists of open office space, private offices, reception areas, restroom facilities, walk up and drive through teller areas, break rooms, mail room, exercise room, computer center and mechanical/electrical rooms.
Special design systems include: snow melting for the garage ramp and front sidewalks, computer center cooling using a raised type floor, FM200 computer center fire protection, building fire protection with wet and dry pipe systems, sewage ejector and sump pump systems for lower level, boiler-chiller-variable air volume HVAC, emergency backup generator with uninterruptible power supply (UPS) buffer, design of data cabling infrastructure and completely concealed roof installed equipment.
