Northfield Montessori School offers a unique platform for children of different ages to learn together in the same classroom. Architectal firm, Portfolio Design, contracted Ulteig to provide structural services for the school building. A unique all-wood structure consisting of fully exposed glue-lam wood beams, the school consists of a masonry block foundation with above grade construction made up of primarily wood framing. The various roof elevations made this building especially challenge to design.
