City of Fargo
Fargo, ND

The City of Fargo approved a new and updated facility plan that provided recommendations for a new Water Treatment Facility. The residuals handling portion of the facility plan identified gravity thickening and mechanical dewatering of the lime sludge as the most feasible option. In addition, it was recommended that the existing vacuum filters and ancillary equipment be removed and replaced with new belt filter presses.

The residuals facility upgrade included the following:

  • Rehabilitation of the gravity thickener sweep and drive
  • Rehabilitation of the clarifier sweep and drive
  • Belt filter press feed pumps
  • Progressive cavity sludge feed pumps
  • Polymer make down units
  • Progressive cavity polymer feed pumps
  • Submersible gravity thickener pumps pumping 5% lime sludge
  • Belt wash centrifugal pumps
  • Centrifugal plant water booster pumps
