The Fargo-Moorhead Metro COG found that their recent demographic projections were being exceeded and decided to update the projections for population, households, and employment.  Ulteig, with assistance from McKibben Demographics, provided the updated demographic forecasts.  Project tasks included:  

• Review of existing forecasts and methodologies
• Analysis of current growth trends
• Development of assumptions and new methodology
• Population, household, and employment forecasts

The resulting report helped initiate a paradigm shift in local community leaders about the basis for future growth in the metropolitan area.  Key implications of the new demographic forecasts were identified and steps to respond to anticipated trends were also provided.
